CWMC 10 Film Festival and Camp Meeting
On Saturday July 22, 2006
the first CWMC film festival will be held at Hidden Valley Park in
Reno. The film festival will be combined with a picnic (that's
the camp meeting part) for a day of entertainment and cameraderie.
The schedule will be flexible to allow for unexpected delays
(like needing to sleep in) but the plan is to start showing films by
10:00 AM and continuing into the afternoon. A tentative schedule
of videos can be found here.
We plan to start cooking around noon for those that want to eat.
The menu will be hamburgers, hotdogs, and chips. Some water
and soft drinks will be provided. If you want to bring other food
and/or drinks it would be welcomed. This is a public event and
everyone is invited with no reservations required. If you want to
drop us an e-mail at ib1@nvbell.net
it would be helpful in determining how much food to buy. There
will be a donation jar available at the festival for those wishing to
help us defray the cost. You can come and go as you please but
the park closes at 8PM and we will need to be finished, cleaned up, and
out of there before then. Please respect the park and the rangers
and help police the area throughout the day.
For those of you that attended the breakfast in the park last year you
should be able to find Hidden Valley Park easily. This year
however the shelter was rented before I had a chance to reserve it,
therefore we will have our festival at the other end of the park.
For those that haven't been to Hidden Valley Park, take McCarran
to the east side of Reno. Rock Blvd crosses McCarran going east
and becomes Pembroke. Take Pembroke east into Hidden Valley and
turn right on Parkway Drive. Parkway Drive is the last street
before Pembroke curves right at the base of the hills. Take
Parkway Drive to the end and you will run into Hidden Valley Park.
Here is a map
of the route to Hidden Valley Park. After entering the park look
for the first road to your left which borders the north side of the
grassy area, this is where we will be set up. Do not bother the
folks under the pavilion, that is not us.
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you there.
